Jayapriya Medical Foundation (JMF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality and affordable eye care services to rural communities in North Karnataka.

Dr. Ananth Huilgol born in Gadag in October 1925, was the 3rd son of Dr Venkatro Huilgol. He pursued his MBBS & DOMS from Grant Medical College, Mumbai. He was the Ist Ophthalmologist in North Karnataka. He started the Karnataka Netra Rakshak Society & was the president of the same.

In 2002 under the leadership of Dr. Shrikrishna G. Nadgouda, JMF began as a small initiative aimed at bringing vision care to the underprivileged and underserved segments of society. For over 18 years now JMF has reached new heights under Dr. Venkatram Katti, overseeing various projects sponsored by National and International organizations.

Over the years, JMF has expanded its reach to more than one crore people, primarily residing in rural areas across Northern Karnataka, including districts such as Dharwad, Haveri, Belagavi, Gadag, Bagalkot and Koppal.

The organization has conducted over 1800 free medical camps, providing eye examinations to over 11.5 lakh patients. Additionally, JMF has performed more than 75,000 sight-restoring cataract surgeries, distributed free medicines, and delivered other essential eye care services to over 7.25 lakh individuals in underserved communities. Importantly, all these services have been provided at zero cost to patients.

Donations to organisation are exempted from tax under sections 80G and 12A of the Income Tax Act. Moreover, the organization is registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) for receiving foreign funds and is also registered under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for undertaking Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.

Through its dedicated efforts and commitment to serving the community, Jayapriya Medical Foundation continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of rural population by improving access to essential eye care services and restoring vision to those in need.
